Karl was born in Lima, Peru, adopted by American parents and raised in the northern state of Maine. During his childhood, he attended public school as well as being homeschooled for several years. This allowed him to travel with his parents (turned teachers) and see the world at a very young age. Eventually, he would move to New Orleans to attend college with a focus in Music Industry Studies.
